A couple of days ago Jon Mundy wrote an article for TrustedReviews.com saying that as a result of the launch of its AI chatbot, Microsoft has revealed that the number of active users of its Bing search engine has reached 100 million.

Yusuf Mehdi, the company's head of consumer marketing, wrote a blog post congratulating Bing on reaching 100 million active users "after a lot of years of steady success".

This headline statistic is the result of Microsoft adding the incredibly well-liked AI Bing Talk function to Bing. Since Bing preview made Bing Chat accessible for testing, the business estimates that over a million new users have joined.

Of all, when compared to Google's 1 billion users, the 100 million statistic seems somewhat less remarkable. Mehdi says, "We are well conscious that we are a little, low, single digit market player. Having said that, it is enjoyable to be at the dance.

Clearly, any kind of advancement in the asymmetrical online search battle has the potential to be huge, especially now that it seems like the next phase will be driven by artificial intelligence (AI) rather than clumsy algorithms and data mining.

It should be noted that a third of the individuals who are actively using the new Bing preview are brand-new to Bing. In other words, Microsoft's new AI chatbot is luring a lot of users away from other search engines (presumably Google).

Users are using Bing more frequently and are making more daily searches as a result.

The popularity of Microsoft's own Edge web browser is another element contributing to Bing's rise.
