Research Scientist at DeepMind. Opinions my own. Inventor of GANs. Lead author of deeplearningbook.org

Currently employed at Deep Mind, Ian Goodfellow was once head of Apple's machine learning division. He earned his doctorate in machine learning from the University of Montreal, and he has published a significant number of articles in prestigious publications and conferences. Enjoy this Ian Goodfellow YouTube video.

He co-created the generative adversarial network (GAN) framework, one of the most popular deep learning approaches, and is one of the principal authors of the textbook "Deep Learning," among other important accomplishments.

The GAN framework and Goodfellow's groundbreaking work on deep learning are his two key contributions to the area of artificial intelligence. He has promoted deep learning and advanced the subject through his writing and research, which has resulted in several advancements in computer vision, natural language processing, and other fields. He has promoted increased cooperation and the interchange of ideas between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers and is a well-known and respected person in the AI field.
