The founding director of the multidisciplinary research group Digital Futures Lab, which studies the intricate relationships between technology and society in the developing world, is Urvashi Aneja. Digital Futures Lab aims to realize routes toward fair, compassionate, and sustainable digital futures via evidence-based research, systematic foresight, and public participation. She established and oversaw Tandem Research before that. The social effects of algorithmic decision-making systems in India and platform governance are the main topics of Urvashi's current study. She is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Policy Studies, IIT Bombay, and an Associate Fellow at Chatham House's Asia Pacific program. Moreover, Urvashi has served on government committees in India focused on emerging technologies as well as the T-20 Task Force on the Future of Employment in G20 nations. Leading international and domestic media outlets including the BBC, CNBC, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, Reuters, and the Economic Times have all referenced her study. Both Urvashi's DPhil and MPhil degrees are in politics and international relations from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
