Microsoft challenges Google's Search with ChatGPT

Microsoft plans to challenge Google's search supremacy by utilizing OpenAI technology.

Article written by Rayan Daws in January, 2023 says that in recent years, a close partnership has developed between Microsoft and OpenAI. With the purpose of developing "new Azure AI supercomputing technologies," Microsoft committed $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019.

Microsoft and OpenAI joined together to exclusively license GPT-3 a year later. Microsoft was able to use GPT-3's technical advances thanks to the licensing agreement to create and distribute cutting-edge AI products.

The current goal of Microsoft and OpenAI is to leverage their combined knowledge to seriously challenge Google Search.
